Triple-Digit Heat Wave Returning To LA

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A heatwave with temperatures topping 100 degrees or more is headed for the valley regions of Southern California on Tuesday.

KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reports the hot weather over the next five days could make life tougher for those who work outdoors.

One man we'll call "Joe", a sanitary specialist who cleans out porta-johns, was less than enthused to hear about the forecast.

"It's like going into a sauna...after a couple of minutes, you're all soaking wet," said Joe.

Sergio is another local worker with a dirty job -- but he has a solution.

"Go where there's plenty of water," he said. "Best thing is working out in Malibu."

But while some people dread triple-digit temps, others said it isn't really that bad: Ron Farnham, who originally hails from Florida said he doesn't really consider heat here in L.A. to be the same as East Coast heat.

"In Florida, it might be a hundred degrees and over here in California it could be a hundred degrees with low humidity," he said. "In Florida, I can just stand on my back porch and sweat by doing nothing."

Forecasters say doing nothing may be your best bet -- at least until cooler temps return on Sunday.

.staying out of the sun….hydrating whenver possible….and hanging on until Sunday …..when the temperatures are supposed to drop..
