Brent Zubek, 43, reportedly fired at a police officer Sunday night during a confrontation at Havenhurst and Libbit avenues along Ventura Boulevard in Encino. Authorities did not return fire until seven hours later when Zubek was found on the rooftop of a home just a few blocks away.
He was taken away in an ambulance after suffering a gunshot wound to the hip.
Zubek is suspected of murdering a man and a woman whose bodies were found in a dumpster in a Chatsworth home last week.
Zubek's connection to the man and woman has not been made clear by authorities, but they have confirmed that Zubek used to live in the home. The woman was also arrested by police, however authorities will not release her name or charges that she might face.
