Trumbo Saves Angels With Walk-Off HR To Sink Texas

(CBS) -- Rookie Mark Trumbo hit a two-run homer off Mike Adams in the bottom of the ninth and the Angels avoided a four-game sweep with a 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Thursday night.

Texas took a one-nothing lead when Mike Napoli hit his 20th homer of the season off his former battery-mate Jered Weaver, it was the only run of the game until Trumbo's walk-off blast.

The Angels are back within six games of the Rangers, with the two teams meeting up six more times this season, with 37 games left.

Weaver pitched seven innings allowing one run, while Colby Lewis pitched seven scoreless for Texas.
