Man Charged In Westminster Bedroom Break-In
WESTMINSTER (AP) — A man charged with breaking into a former neighbor's home and climbing into bed with a 10-year-old girl has pleaded not guilty in an Orange County court.
Cesar Sotelo is charged with felony first-degree residential burglary with the intent to commit a sex offense. City News Service says he entered his not guilty plea Wednesday in Westminster.
Sotelo is accused of climbing through an unlocked window on Sunday and getting into bed with the girl. Prosecutors say the girl's brother, who shares the room, awoke and ran to get their father.
The father struggled with the man, but he fled through the same window. Sotelo was arrested two days later.
Prosecutors asked that Sotelo be held on $1 million bail but the judge set bail at $150,000.
