Family Rents Billboard Along 60 Freeway To Find Daughter's Killer

MORENO VALLEY (CBS) — A grieving Riverside County family is taking dramatic action to find their daughter's killer.

The family of Carrie Thomas has put up a billboard along the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley in hopes of generating a tip that leads to an arrest.

"We don't have a lot of money, but every dime that we do have, we're gonna utilize that to try to catch this guy," the victim's father, Gene Thomas, told CBS2/KCAL9's Nicole Gonzales.

The billboard says "Help me find my killer," and features a picture of the 23-year-old and the man seen fleeing the ATM after she was shot last March.

Investigators say the billboard is already generating tips. It'll be rotated at a number of locations along the 60 Freeway.

"It's really been good. It's been very reassuring for me," the victim's mother, Ladonna Thomas, said.
