2 Juvenile Inmates Captured After Walking Away From Work Detail On Mulholland

JURUPA (CBS) — Two juvenile inmates who walked away from a fire crew that was clearing brush near Studio City five days ago have been captured at a Riverside County home, according to the state Department of Corrections.

Pablo Ontaneda, 18, and Christopher Ochoa, 19, were arrested late Tuesday night by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Fugitive Apprehension Team and a task force from the U.S. Marshals Service.

The suspects were clearing brush along Mulholland Drive as part of a fire crew from the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility in Camarillo when they vanished late Friday morning.

Both inmates were classified as non-violent offenders and had been convicted on robbery charges.

Ontaneda and Ochoa were booked into the Riverside County jail.
