Suspect Still At Large Following Fatal Stabbing On South Gate Bike Path

SOUTH GATE (CBS) — Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect after a man's body was discovered on a bike path along the LA River in South Gate last month.

The victim, identified by authorities as 50-year-old Francisco Rivera, was discovered about 1:30 a.m. on July 30, according to a news release issued by the LA County Sheriff's Department.

However, authorities believe Rivera was fatally stabbed between 9:39 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on July 29, near the intersection of Burtis Street and Southern Avenue.
