Giant Chicken Made Of Traffic Cones To Roost At LA Cone Company
LOS ANGELES (AP) — An 8-foot-tall, 300-pound chicken made of traffic cones is coming home to roost in Los Angeles.
Artist Lana Shuttleworth made the chicken from thousands of shredded orange, yellow and red cones. The piece was commissioned by a Pasadena museum and it's been displayed there for a year.
Next Monday, though, the giant chicken will be plucked up and moved to the downtown Los Angeles storage yard of the JCL Barricade Co.
The company provides traffic barricades, signs and cones for movies, construction projects, parades and marathons.
Because they have cones in commons, company founders Jim and Susan Morris have become good friends with the artist.
