Borders' Liquidation Sale Begins Friday
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Borders will start its liquidation sale Friday at nearly 400 stores, including 18 here in Southern California.
Books, DVDs and furniture valued at more than $700 million will be discounted by up to 40 percent.
More than 10,000 employees, including more than 500 in Southern California, will lose their jobs when the company wraps up sales in September.
The liquidation plan was approved Thursday, effectively ending the retailer's 40-year-old business.
