Val Verde Students Win Top Honor For Teen Suicide PSA

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — A group of students from Val Verde High School created a PSA on teen suicide through Panasonic's video education program and competition called Kid Witness News. The special group won the United States portion of the global competition!

Robert DelCampo, a teacher from Val Verde High School, stopped by KCAL9 Wednesday to talk about the winning project. He was joined by student Joe Lara.

Val Verde High School's entry "Without Me" – an insightful and moving public service announcement video about teen suicide -- will now compete against entries from Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, and Slovakia for KWN Global Video of the Year honors. The winner will be announced Thursday at Universal Studios Hollywood.
