Ontario Police Looking For 'Sports Fan Bandit'
ONTARIO (CBS) — Police are looking for a suspect, dubbed the "Sports Fan Bandit," who robbed a local bank and may be responsible for other recent crimes.
Authorities say the suspect robbed the Comerica Bank, 800 N. Haven Avenue, just before noon Tuesday. He walked up to a bank teller and demanded an unknown amount of money at gunpoint, Ontario police said.
The suspect, an Asian male in his 40s, then left the bank in silver four-door sedan. Authorities believe the suspect also robbed the same bank in February of this year.
Greg Mills, reporting for KCAL9 and CBS2, said the suspect wore a Green Bay Packers cap in the robbery last February. He sported a New York Yankees cap in the heist yesterday.
In both robberies, Mills also reports the suspect showed a handgun.
The suspect is described as 5 feet 6 inches with a medium build and clean shaven face.
Anyone with information is asked to call Ontario police.
