RIVERSIDE (CBS) — An ex-convict accused of killing an escort in his Riverside apartment pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murder.

Drake Von Walker, 48, could face 25 years to life in prison if convicted in the June 24 death of Maisha Shante Walters.

Walker is being held without bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

Walker appeared before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Richard T. Fields, who set a felony settlement conference in the case for July 21.

According to authorities, Walker walked into the police department’s Magnolia Station on the afternoon of June 24th and reported a prostitute dead in his residence in the 7700 block of Magnolia Avenue.

Officers went to the apartment and discovered Walters’ body. The circumstances of her death were not disclosed.

Walker was immediately arrested.

Walker has one felony conviction, but its nature wasn’t clear.

who the hell wrote this up? You should be sued! Maisha wasn’t a prostitute….never has been….never been arrested…picked up,detained for prostitution! So who the hell told whoever wrote this story she was? The trash that murdered her? I hope you print retractions as fast as you print lies! A mom lost her daughter,a daughter lost her mom and you guys are arrogant as to print a lie you have absolutely no proof of? Just sad when you’re a murderer and have more credibilty than the person you killed!

The first felony conviction was that he killed his wife….the Mother of his two kids violently. He should have never been released from prison. He told lies about this incident too. He is a monster. They need to put a needle in his arm. Send him to Texas cause they execute every week. My heart goes out to Maisha family especially her child.
