Woman, 70, Hurt In Garden Grove Home Invasion Robbery
GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — A 70-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after one of three suspects ripped off a necklace and pushed her to the floor during a home invasion robbery in Garden Grove, police said.
The intruders entered the home in the 12800 block of Westlake Street about 12:45 p.m., said Lt. Jeff Nightengale of the Garden Grove Police Department.
Nightengale said two women and one man -- all "elderly" -- were in the home at the time.
Police are looking for three suspects, two males and a female, who managed to escape in a newer-model small green sport utility vehicle – possibly a Toyota.
Nightengale said one shot was fire and a shell was discovered, but no bullet holes were located.
Other than the necklace, nothing of value was taken, the lieutenant said.
It was unclear why the suspects targeted the location.
