Get Your Foodie Fix on the Other Side of the 405 at LA Street Food Festival in Pasadena
LA's biggest food-tasting event is back as LA Street Food Fest gears up for July 16 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Wouldn't you know, "Street Food" does not consist of food trucks alone! Attendees will sample signature bites and beverages from a curated selection of more than 65 street food vendors from hot gourmet food trucks, old school carts and stands to celebrity chefs and street-inspired dishes from LA's best restaurants. The dazzling array of participants is listed online.
Each year the LA Street Food Fest donates a portion of the proceeds to a local charity - this year, the charity selected is The Downtown Women's Shelter. And while charity-based tasting events often require vendors to donate their food and services, the event founders know that this can be challenging for new and less-established vendors. For that reason, the participation of every vendor at the Summer Tasting Event is subsidized by the Food Fest itself.
The Food Fest has expanded this year to include Brookside Park which adds three soccer fields to the grassy event space meaning lots of room for picnics and play. One $60 ticket gets you access to everything and includes parking. (Family packs and discounts for children ages 8-12 are available. Children under 7 are free.) You also get to choose from three sessions during the course of the event, allowing for attendance control and VIP treatment for everyone.
A preview tasting of several of the offerings included: Glowfish's Okonomiyaki, The Mighty Boba Truck's Buttermilk Popcorn Chicken (To.Die.For!), Moo Dae Poe's Lettuce Wraps, Gleeka's Spanakopita, IOTA's desserts & iced coffee and Sailor Jerry's Rum made into a very special cocktail! There is definitely something for everyone.
