Metrolink Train Kills Pedestrian In Riverside
RIVERSIDE (AP) — Officials say a transient has been killed by a Metrolink commuter train in Riverside.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Manuel Garza says the accident occurred at 5:40 a.m. Thursday and involved Metrolink Train No. 701, headed for Los Angeles.
Garza, with the transit services bureau, says the victim was male, but his name and age were not immediately determined.
A Metrolink representative did not return phone calls, but the company website said some service in Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange and Los Angeles counties was disrupted. One train was canceled.
The accident site is 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
