PACOIMA (CBS) — Police are on the hunt for a suspect in a sexual assault at a popular Southern California park.

Authorities say a possible serial rapist has been targeting victims at Hansen Dam Park in the San Fernando Valley. Police say the latest attack occurred on June 30 around 9:45 p.m. when the victim was walking on the a bike path.

“The suspect grabbed her and forced her into an isolated area and sexually assaulted her,” Commanding Officer Joseph Hiltner said.

The suspect is believed to be a Hispanic man between 23 and 25-years-old, around 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

“The suspect has a mole on his right cheek . .  he has thick lips and a thin mustache and protruding ears,” Officer Hiltner said. Authorities said the suspect also has thick eyebrows and freckles on his cheeks.

The suspect was wearing a navy blue or black t-shirt, black sweatpants and black shoes at the time of the assault, according to officials.

Police are warning visitors to be mindful of their surroundings. They believe he could also be responsible to two attempted rapes in 2008.

Anyone with information about the suspect should call Foothill detectives at (818) 834-3115.

    A simple solution is castration for the culprit. I will pay for it, heck I would do it. My daughter was raped 11 years ago and will haunt me till I die.

      @Sat “Idol”

      My question is what are girls doing out at 9:45pm in a rural park?? These days?

  6. Attn: Women says:

    Women, be careful !! Don’t go out at night alone. Don’t jog in a park at night. Don’t go to isolated areas. Be careful in mall parking lots & parking structures. Don’t go for a walk at night. Even if you think it’s a “good neighborhood”. These are dangerous times and people are crazy & hostile. This may seem paranoid, but all you have to do is watch the news. Take care.

    I saw a guy who looked alot like this man in Calabasas yesterday. He was driving an old faded black pick-up when he tried to hit on me.

It’s not safe and its an environment that feels like its infected with predators!

      I go there a lot. Just be careful and go in pairs. Taking a big dog works too. Every time I have taken my dog, nobody has said anything to me, unless it’s a compliment on how handsome he is. Just be aware of your surroundings and take a can of mase or keep your car keys handy in case you have to use them to scratch someone’s face 😉

  12. Jo Senshi says:

    Well, I was about to go on a Practice Run right now for the PRC 5k/10k Walk for Life event this coming Saturday – but after reading this, I’ll stick to my regular park. Maybe I’ll go later, or tomorrow, with my nephew, The Shinobi.

    P.S. Dave game, you’re an idiot!
