Motorcyclist Killed In Granada Hills Crash

GRANADA HILLS (CBS) — A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision involving a car in Granada Hills, a city fire official said.

Paramedics responded to the accident in the 10700 block of Zelzah Avenue near Chatsworth Street about 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles City Fire Department said.

Los Angeles police Sgt. Larry Jones said the motorist, described as a woman in her 70s, was leaving one parking lot and driving into another one at midblock when the motorcyclist struck the side of her vehicle.

The motorcyclist was rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

The female motorist was also transported to a local hospital in fair condition.

Jones said she had yet to be cited or arrested and the investigation was continuing.
