Expert Tips For Grilling Juicy Summer Burgers

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — With about 30 locations nationwide and several more expected to open this summer, it's no wonder why The Counter is one of the leading burger franchises.

The Counter's Founder and co-CEO Jeff Weinstein visited the KCAL9 set on Monday to offer up some tips for grilling great summer burgers.

Among them, he suggests choosing meat with a lean-to-fat ratio of 80/20 and choosing either corn or grass fed chuck, depending on your preference.

Also, don't spend too much time handling the meat because that will not only change the way it cooks, but also the way it tastes since body temperature can melt the existing fat.

Weinstein also suggests adding salt and pepper to the meat, and maintaining the temperature on the grill so its neither too hot nor too cold.

And finally, allow the burger to rest for two minutes after grilling it.
