'Star Wars' Fans Band Together To Help Another Princess 'Leah'

WESTWOOD (CBS) — Zev and Franceska Esquenazi, parents of a 4-month-old baby girl named Leah, need two things: 1. A medical miracle. 2. A way to pay for it.

It looks like they might get what they have been hoping for.

"Star Wars" fans and well-wishers have banded together to help another little Princess Leia, although this one spells her name a little differently.

Leah has spent most of her life in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit at UCLA Medical Center.

She has a mystery illness and a team of 40-odd doctors have been unable to figure out what is making her sick. She suffers from seizures and they, in turn, are making it hard for her to breathe. She's had a battery of tests, including blood work and spinal taps.

"It's really, really difficult to see your beautiful baby who was fine two months ago just all of the sudden have these issues that they can't explain," Franceska says.

The bills are mounting for the Esquenazis, who are are avid "Star Wars" fans.  But the force, and some angels, are with them.

Fans and celebrities have so far raised upward of $16,000 to help this family and their little star.

Little Leah has 3,000 followers on Facebook, but anyone can enter a $5 "Star Wars" memorabilia raffle to support her by July 1.
