Minnesota Timberwolves President: Team Definitely Not Trading Kevin Love

MINNEAPOLIS (CBS/AP) -- Minnesota Timberwolves president David Kahn says he wants to meet with owner Glen Taylor before making a decision on coach Kurt Rambis. Kahn says he met with Rambis for more than six hours last week to discuss the possibility of the coach returning for a third season.

He says the process has been "painful and awkward" but promised a decision "in due time." Rambis was not in town on Tuesday for Ricky Rubio's introductory press conference and will not be there for the draft, either.

If Duke point guard Kyrie Irving falls to No. 2 on Thursday night, Kahn says the Wolves will draft him and figure out what to do later.

Kahn says the team is definitely not trading Kevin Love.

Rumors have been circulating that the team has rejected an alleged offer from the Lakers that would send Pau Gasol to the Twin Cities for Love and the #2 pick.

Minnesota reportedly countered with a deal believed to be Gasol for Love.
