BMX Coach Arrested For Sexually Assaulting 3 Boys

WESTMINISTER (CBS) — A BMX coach was arrested for sexually assaulting three young boys and exchanging thousands of child pornography images over the Internet.

Mandak Kohn Griffin, 30, was arraigned Monday on charges of felony sodomy with a child under 10, oral copulation of a child under 10, possession and control of child pornography and using a minor for production of obscene matter.

Authorities say the crimes occurred between February 2000 and February 2002. Griffin is accused of befriending and then assaulting the three boys aged seven, eight and nine. In one case, Griffin is accused of sodomizing and taking a pornographic picture of the victim, investigators said.

Between August 2010 and January 2011, Griffin allegedly exchanged thousands of child pornography online. At this time, the Orange County Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (OC SAFE) Team was alerted and the FBI began investigating Griffin.

Officials believe there could be more victims. Anyone with information is urged to call Supervising District Attorney Investigator Randy Litwin at (714) 347-8794.

If convicted, Griffin faces a maximum sentence of 85 years to life in state prison.
