SANTA ANA (CBS) — A Santa Ana High school grad is sure glad is didn’t cut class this year.

That’s because UC Riverside-bound student Cathy Martinez won a brand new Chevy Cruze (with a sticker price of $19,000) in a drawing hosted by the Santa Ana School District.

This is the fifth year the district is holding the drawing for a free car, which is only open to those who have perfect attendance.

Martinez thought she’d have to take a bus or a train when she attends college in the fall, but now she won’t have to!

Maybe she can sell that piece of junk and with the money make a down payment and get a Honda instead

Maybe she can sell the junk car and use the money for English lessons or to move her entire ILLEGAL ALIEN family back to their third world toilet country.

Ridiculous – now we are awarding students with “prizes” worth tens-of-thousands of dollars for something they are supposed to be doing anyway? YOUR ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE PERFECT ATTENDANCE!! You attend school for your own benefit – not to win a prize. What do we start awarding kids for next: “Hey, you got a B in math and that’s better than the C you got last year – 0 you win an all-paid expenses trip to Cancun!” “Hey, you didn’t get pregnant in the 10th Grade like all your friends, you win a set of new Jet-Skis!” “Hey, you’ve never been arrested for doing crystal-meth, that’s terrific, you just won $10,000!!”.
