Firefighters Use Hacksaw To Free Toddler From Potty Seat

BURBANK (CBS) — Burbank firefighters used a hacksaw to separate a 3-year-old girl's head from a potty seat, a fire captain said Saturday.

"I was there when it happened. They bought her a new potty seat and she decided to put it on her head," Burbank Fire Department Capt. Ron Bell said.

The family tried olive oil to loosen the seat, and when it did not work they took the toddler to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center.

Firefighters were dispatched to the hospital about 3 p.m. Friday and used a hacksaw to free the child, who was uninjured.
