(CBS) — A panel of of public policy experts is urging California residents of color to make sure their political voice is heard ahead of a statewide redistricting campaign.

The release of draft redistricting maps by California’s Citizens Redistricting Commission showed that minority communities may have had less input at public hearings held earlier this year because of a weak turnout.

The Commission plans to hold a series of community meetings around the state to get input and reaction to the draft maps, and will also be accepting public comment by e-mail at votersfirstact@crc.ca.gov, by fax (916) 651-5711, and by mail to Citizens Redistricting Commission, 901 P Street, Suite 154-A, Sacramento, CA 95814.

“People of color” are the ONLY people who get their voices heard! It’s about time that the REAL minorites (whites) get a say.

      Latino redistricting?
Is this something new? Was there an Italian redistricting or an Irish redistricting
      or maybe an Asian redistricting?

Funny how the Latinos are the ones always calling everyone else racist!
