Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA (AP) — Authorities say the pilot of a small plane made a safe emergency landing on a street area after developing engine trouble.

Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Bill Weiss says pilot Kashif Khursheed brought the Cardinal 177 aircraft down shortly before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Santa Clarita Parkway in Saugus.

Weiss says neither Khursheed nor his passenger Alberto Behar was injured. No one on the ground was hurt and no homes in the area were damaged.

Weiss says the plane was en route from San Luis Obispo to Van Nuys Airport when the problem occurred.
