GRIFFITH PARK (KNX1070) — Thousands of cyclists Sunday are taking part in the 11th Annual Los Angeles River Ride, taking riders from Griffith Park all the way to Long Beach.
The event features six different rides of varying distances and organizer JJ Hoffman told KNX 1070's Ed Mertz that it allows riders to experience the LA River bike path.

"What's so unique about that path is it's so urban, it runs right through the middle of the city and through the county and at the same time, you know it's so beautiful," Hoffman said.
The LA River Ride is billed the premier bike event in the city.
