Angels Wives And Anaheim Firefighters To Hold 'Fill The Boot' Fundraiser
ANAHEIM (CBS) — Batter up and strike out Muscular Dystrophy?
Wives of Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim players and Anaheim firefighters will conduct their inaugural "Fill the Boot" fundraiser benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Orange County and Riverside County at Sunday's game against the New York Yankees.
Donations will be collected beginning at 11 a.m. and, throughout the game, at the Home Plate Gate, Gates 1, 4 and 6, outside the Diamond Club and behind the rocks in center field at Angel Stadium.
Money raised will help fund the MDA children's clinic at Children's Hospital of Orange County, the ALS and Neuromuscular Center at UC Irvine Medical Center, provide wheelchair repair, flu shots and MDA summer camp for children and research to help find cures for 43 neuromuscular diseases.
