LOS ANGELES (CBS) — June 1-June 7 is officially CPR week. And to raise awareness about this important week, the American Heart Association and Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute have teamed up to teach Los Angeles residents how to save lives.

High school students, city employees and city officials attended a City Hall gathering Monday morning to kick off the week. They were also joined by someone whose life was saved by CPR.

Authorities there demonstrated the hands-only technique. By knowing the classic Bee Gees song “Stayin’ Alive,” you could save a life.

For more, go to the American Heart Association Web site. There you will find a live demonstration on hands-only CPR.

What would you do if you see a homeless person laying on the ground all dirty and stuff with the teeth hanging half way out of the mouth and you know that you knows CPR would you let that person lie there minister CPR dial 911 call out loud for help or would you be willing to do what you’re trained to do .
