Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SUV In Fountain Valley

FOUNTAIN VALLEY (CBS) —A 25-year-old man was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle as he ran across the street in Fountain Valley Monday, police said.

The fatal accident occurred near Brookhurst Street and Quail Avenue just after midnight, Fountain Valley police Sgt. Tony Luce said.

Kevin Blanciak was transported to UCI Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the coroner's office.

Blanciak was crossing the street to get to his home when he was hit, Sgt. Kurt Ulrich of the Fountain Valley Police Department said. He was not in a designated crosswalk.
