Transient Arrested In Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills Bank Robberies

LAGUNA BEACH (CBS) — Authorities say they've arrested a 22-year-old transient man on suspicion of robbing banks in Laguna Beach and Lake Forest.

Bill Wright Wills, a transient who grew up in Laguna Beach, was taken into custody about 10 a.m. when he was found walking around Laguna Hills Tuesday morning, FBI officials said.

Wills is suspected of robbing a U.S. Bank branch about 4:20 p.m. Monday, FBI Agent Chris Gicking said. Willis is also accused of robbing a Citibank branch in Lake Forest on the afternoon of May 16.

In both robberies, the suspect handed tellers a demand note, Gicking said.

After the Laguna Beach robbery, officers recognized Wills from previous encounters.

Wills was arrested for robbery a couple of years ago, Laguna Beach police Lt. Jason Kravetz said.
