Alleged Burglar Fatally Shot In Lynwood Home

LYNWOOD (CBS) — A coroner's official Tuesday said an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in a Lynwood home.

Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner's office said a preliminary investigation revealed that the young man was allegedly burglarizing the home when he was shot by a resident.

The shooting took place at the home in the 11000 block of Harris Avenue near Elmwood Avenue about 10 p.m. Monday, Deputy Benjamin Grubb of Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.

The teen died at the scene. His name has been withheld.
