The competition will conclude Friday with the winner announced Saturday.

The Granada Hills team scored 50,801 points out of a possible 60,000 during the California competition last month to take the state title and qualify for the national competition.

Members of the Granada Hills team -- which also won the LAUSD decathlon in February -- are Harsimar Dhanoa, Elysia Eastty, Shagun Goyal, Riki Higashida, Austin Kang, Jiyong "Eugene" Lee, Joon Lee, Sindhura Seeni and Celine Ta.

California schools have won the last eight national titles and 13 of the past 16.
