Ethier Hits In 21st Straight Game, Dodgers Win

CHICAGO (AP) — Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 21 games with a single in a five-run first inning and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 7-3 for their fourth win in five games.

Hiroki Kuroda (3-2) gave up three hits and two runs in the first, then scattered six hits the rest his six innings. Overall he allowed three runs -- two earned -- struck out seven and walked none.

Carlos Zambrano (2-1) worked five innings, giving up six runs and eight hits. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Ethier is one of only three players in baseball history with a 21-game hitting streak in April. his former manager Joe Torre had a 22-game streak in 1972.
