LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Lindsay Lohan has been ordered taken into custody after a judge has ruled the actress violated her probation in the theft of a necklace from a Venice jewelry store.

Lohan, whose grand theft case was just reduced to a misdemeanor charge, has been fighting the accusation that she stole the necklace from the store, Kamofie & Co. Lohan has claimed she borrowed the $2,500 necklace with the knowledge of the store’s owners.

A judge sentenced the actress to 120 days in jail for violating her probation. She was led from the courtroom by bailiffs.

Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, said she will appeal Friday’s ruling. The judge set bail at $75,000.  Lohan was also ordered to serve more than 400 hours of community service, including 300 hours at a women’s center.

It will be Lohan’s fourth jail stint.

A misdemeanor charge carries a potential penalty of a year in jail. A trial for the misdemeanor charge has been tentatively set for June 3.

What a slap in the face to the courts again. She’ll be protective custody, will watch TV all day, have some access to weights and stuff, served meals she doesn’t have to prepare herself or do the dishes for, have her laundry done for her, piece of cake and the Judge should be removed from office immediately.

    1. James Granfield says:

To the Courts???????they made the decision. It’a a slap in the face to every law abiding citizen regardless of how much money they have.
The rich really get away with murder.

      1. michellefrommadison says:

Ditto James, they really do get away with murder. Nancy Grace of CNN is another example of someone badgering a victim to death, then denying her role, then she pays out hundreds of thousands of dollars to help the criminal charges disappear.

    2. TJ says:

The judges should be right in there with her. After all, they aren’t doing their job when they give her special treatment, they’re pandering to her. If a judge isn’t doing his/her job, yet still collecting a paycheck from the back’s of the tax payers – to me, that is theft of tax dollars. The regular people don’t get this kind of pampered justice!

      1. michellefrommadison says:

Ditto, arrest the judge and every prosecutor involved in this case.

    3. frank says:

lindsay lohan is the only person I know who gets to bail out on a probation violation it’s unheard of by regular citizens. she shoould be held till the end of court proceedings like the rest of us.

      1. RedDonnaAnn says:

How many people on probation do you know?

      2. RedDonnaAnn says:

How many people on probation do you know? “The rest of us”? Speak for yourself.

stars and money they get out of everything the justice system in usa

    1. michellefrommadison says:

Totally backfired on the Judge. Lindsay wants a little vacation after making a complete joke of the system.

  3. Theword says:

Justice for this loser, snob finally came down the way it should. She thought she was so cool and above all the laws and she could get away with anything. Maybe she won’t be in the “Teflon Dom” John Gotti movie after all, boo freakin hoo. Because right now she certainally is not teflon, more, a crying troubled girl!!!!

    1. michellefrommadison says:

That’s not Justice, that’s a total and complete disaster by the Judge and the prosecution. If one only deals with the facts of the case and not the emotions, it become much clearer that the system failed once again. 😦

    1. michellefrommadison says:

Lindsay keeps winning and winning just like Charlie is doing and loving every step of the way while making the court look like a fool.

  5. jongo satmanyaro says:

good girl Lindsay…you get some rest and relaxation..we need you out here and on the big screen again…you are a fine actor and we love you unconditionally…as for the haters on here…go back to your rooms and close the door…

  6. Robby Logan says:

Here in LA, 120 days means about 10-12 at most. And don’t forget, she gets a single cell, special food and all her medications including Ambien to knock her out for 8 hours. She has to suffer through that AND BASIC CABLE.
    Oh the humanity.

    1. diane says:

so can a normal person get out early on violation of probation?????

    1. michellefrommadison says:

She is grown up and not acting like a spoiled brat in any stretch of the imagination. Sorry.

  8. John says:

    Poor Lindsay……
When will they leave her alone?
    This poor poor girl….
    I feel for her.
Does anyone know where I can send A
care-package to her prison cell? Life is so unfair for Lindsey.
We should all do something for her. Here, she steals property of another and has to answer for it ! The nerve! Then she violates probation and has to answer for that! What gall! The drunk driving was only a minor thing, surely we can overlook that ? Can’t we? Drunk driving is so pedestrian, so beneath her.
This may interrupt her ‘acting’ career or worse her social life.
    What do you think?

  9. michellefrommadison says:

It’s not like Lindsay killed anyone like Nancy Grace of CNN did before.

    1. MissVV says:

What did Nancy Grace do? Seriously, I’ve never heard about this before. She is so “holier-than-thou”, I would love to know what skeleton is in her closet.

      1. michellefrommadison says:

Nancy Grace’s crimes against real victims is too legnthy to mention here and not really in line with the blog topic. Try some research and you’ll quickly see that she not only has ended the life of victims, she has an ongoing long list of lawsuits against her that is four pages in legnth.

      2. michellefrommadison says:

Many of the sites with the specific criminal offenses has been purchased by CNN to avoid a lot of the publicity. 108 sites that I know of.

  10. Jim Gates says:

shes only 24 years old she needs help i dont want her to end up like river phoenix dead people are being way too hard on her my goodness she didnt kill anyone just a drug problem give her a break

  11. Jim Gates says:

the other thing im not 100% i believe the owner of the store hes lying about the price and keeps changing his story maybe he should be arrested for lying

    1. michellefrommadison says:

Ditto again Jim, you’re right on target.

  12. PL says:

    $75,000 bail for a $850 necklace?,
    Which has been returned!
Must be trying to erase California debt
Cost more to incarcerate Li Lo
Plus assumed guilty prior to trial???

  13. Michael J. McDermott says:

Here’s one… I gotta laugh, but aside from the bad publicity and her being arrested and everything these last few years, I swear to God, I don’t even know who she is, what she does or anything else. Don’t know what movie she was in, don’t know what TV show she was on….. NOTHIN’! I swear!

Funny huh? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

What shall we discuss next? Sheeeeeee he he heeen?

    1. Michael J. McDermott says:

I meant “Sheeeee hee hee heeeen?” What IS the matter with me.

    1. michellefrommadison says:

I care that there is injustice in our system. Why you don’t care may be a symptom of a potential drug or alcohol problem or the lack of a sufficient amount of upper-education. Good luck with that stuff. 🙂

  15. Big Boy says:

    I’d still hit it!!!

  16. Judy says:

Could you PLEASE educate your reporters on the difference between probation and parole. It’s so irritating and the difference is vast.
