Klay Thompson Declares For NBA Draft

(AP) -- Washington State guard Klay Thompson has announced his intention to enter the NBA draft, but will hold off on hiring an agent until

he's certain about his draft position.

Thompson made the announcement on Monday. He has until May 8 to withdraw from the draft if he changes his mind.

Thompson was a first-team all-Pac-10 selection after averaging a league-high 22 points per game in his junior season in Pullman. He also had off-court troubles following his arrest in early March after a game on investigation of marijuana possession.

Thompson said the off-court issues had no influence on his decision. He says if he gets feedback from scouts and personnel that he'll be a first-round pick, he's almost certainly headed to the NBA.
