Valley Glen Residents Evacuated After Shooting

VALLEY GLEN (CBS) — LAPD SWAT officers evacuated residents of a Valley Glen apartment complex early Monday morning after an apparent shooting inside building.

Officers cleared the units around a residence with bullet holes in the door so they could make sure no one was inside, a police sergeant said.

A man was shot in the leg outside of the apartment in the 12200 block of Oxnard Street at 10 p.m. Sunday, Sgt. Ben Trask said.

The victim was able to drive himself to the Kaiser Permanente hospital in Panorama City for treatment, Trask said.

He was later released.

No other injuries were immediately reported.
