Unseasonably Cold Storm System Moves Into Southern California

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A cold storm packed with rain and snow is expected to hit Southern California Thursday.

An unseasonably cold low-pressure system moving south along the coast will bring cooler weather Thursday through Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency says increased winds and swells will cause hazardous water conditions along the Orange County coast.

Snow levels could fall as low as 2,000 feet, reducing visibility and creating icy road conditions along Interstate 5 through the Grapevine.

A wind advisory was issued for Los Angeles County mountains and the Antelope Valley. Thunderstorms could also hit the region by Friday night.
