Taxing! Local Group Helps Women Get Their Finances In Check

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — There are two types of tax payers. The ones who file early and the ones who procrastinate.

Admit it. If you're reading this, count yourself among the procrastinators! Hey, but you still have 9 days to get your house, your financial house that is, in order.

One local group helps women in particular get their financial houses in order.

As Sibila Vargas reported on the CBS 2 News at 11 p.m. Wednesday, sorting out what to do with the refund (if you get a refund!) and how to prep your paperwork can be a bit dizzying for some.

CPA and certified woman's money coach Neil Palache is helping women get focused. Every year, around this time (natch), he heads up a financial forum called the Women's Wealth Creator.

Talk radio host Dave Ramsey says tax time doesn't have to be...well, taxing. One good strategy, to sit down with a tax professional and figure out the proper amount of withholding.

He also explains why getting a refund is always not a great idea (this we gotta hear!)
