$75K Reward Offered In Shooting Of 3 Mentally Handicapped People

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A $75,000 reward was approved Tuesday for information in the shooting of three mentally handicapped people March 7 at an adult daycare center in South Los Angeles.

"I am calling on the community to take a stand and send a loud and clear message that there will be absolutely no tolerance for violence committed against innocent victims," City Councilman Bernard Parks said. The former police chief, whose district includes the area where the shooting occurred, sponsored the reward.

Three people were wounded at the business near Vernon and Arlington Avenues that Monday afternoon, police said.

The three victims, who are mentally handicapped, survived the attack.
