Man, 74, Allegedly Stabs Neighbor In Dispute Over Pets

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Authorities say a 74-year-old San Diego man accused of stabbing his 64-year-old neighbor in a dispute over pets has been taken into custody.

The Los Angeles Times reports a fight broke out late Friday when the older man said his kittens were being harassed by his neighbor's dog.

Investigators say the 74-year-old allegedly hit his neighbor in the face with a broom stick, then returned to his home and came back with a knife, stabbing the man once in the stomach.

The victim was treated at a hospital for a swollen lip and a wound to the stomach. Police say his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect was taken into custody. An investigation is continuing.

The names of the victim and the suspect were not released.
