ACTON (CBS) — An 8-year-old boy was killed and two others injured in a crash involving four vehicles on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Acton, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday.

The crash was reported about 4:35 p.m. Friday on the mountainous stretch of northbound freeway just north of Escondido Canyon Road.

Paramedics rushed the child to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:44 p.m. Friday. Another child, believed to be 5, was taken to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Both boys were passengers in a 2011 Nissan driven a 39-year-old Lancaster woman, who was taken to Henry Mayo Hospital with minor injuries.

She reportedly drove her Nissan into the rear of a 2004 Kenworth truck pulling a semi-trailer, the CHP said. After that impact, the Nissan spun out of control and was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 32-year-old Palmdale man, was not injured.

God needed to be with the family before the accident, and prevent it, but thanks for the empty words.

God is always with us all and we should not judge or question the actions that he let’s happen or doesn’t let happen, he has a plan for all! Yes losing anyone is always hard especially a child but in the end we see them all again all we can do untill them is remember them, still talk to them cuz there always there with us even though we can’t see them, and make them proud! My dearest apologies too this family and all the others around the world who have lost people dear to them, but never forget GOD is with u and he does here u! Don’t be hateful, don’t hold a grudge against him, he loves us all and feels our pain! And I a sure u all he has all ur loved ones up there with him living in peace and harmony watching over u!

God is always with us, and no matter how ugly the outcome, God has a reason for everything. If we don’t believe in this, the emptyness inside us is enough to kill us.
It is so sad how they say ” A mother appears to be responsible …” I know the mother, and what the news failed to say is that she lost consiousness for a few seconds before the accident which caused the first crash. But I guess they only want news that SELLS! Very sad! As if it weren’t enough for her to deal with her grieve to hear such horrid comments!
