MORENO VALLEY (CBS) — Police say an ex-con who has been taken into custody has confessed to stabbing his girlfriend to death in a Moreno Valley apartment.

Brandon Ramsey Wilson, 27, was arrested Sunday morning in the stabbing death of 27-year-old Renisha Leshay Bruins at an apartment in the 12600 block of Memorial Way, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Herman Lopez said.

Wilson walked into the sheriff's Moreno Valley station about 10:45 a.m. and described an incident between him and his girlfriend, the sergeant said. After hearing the parolee's story, deputies went to the Memorial Way apartment and found a woman who had been stabbed several times.

Bruins was pronounced dead at the scene.
