Police Search For Suspect In Sexual Assault Of Girl, 11

MORENO VALLEY (CBS) — Riverside officials have issued an arrest warrant for a man who allegedly joined six other suspects in sexually assaulting a girl in a park bathroom.

On March 10th, deputies arrested six juvenile suspects who allegedly participated in the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl. The victim, whose name was not released, was in a bathroom at Victoriano Park in the 25700 block of Los Cabos Drive when the six youths allegedly assaulted her, according to Riverside County sheriff's officials. All six suspects are currently booked into juvenile hall, sheriff's Sgt. Nathan Kaas said.

The lone outstanding suspect, 19-year-old Michael Sykes, was the only adult allegedly involved in the incident, authorities said. Police were unable to locate Sykes, but said he is believed to be somewhere in the Los Angeles area.

All seven suspects were thought to be part of a Moreno Valley street gang, Kaas said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident can reach Detective Duke Viveros at (951) 247-8700.
