LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a partially clothed man died in the custody of Los Angeles police after he was shot with bean bags and a Taser while fighting with officers.

Police said in a statement Friday that 36-year-old Christopher Davis died after seven officers used “less lethal” force in an attempt to safely arrest him on Monday.

Police had received a call earlier that a man was removing clothing on a street in South Los Angeles. The statement says Davis would not respond to commands, refused to submit to arrest and challenged officers to a fight.

Police say he remained combative as he was subdued and put in handcuffs. He was taken to a hospital and declared dead an hour later.

The coroner has yet to determine a cause of death.

Lets see how long it takes the ACLU to try to take the tasers away from police. Forget about the fact that no dout toxicology reports will show he was under the influance of lets see… Naked man..Humm..PCP. But then again, watch LAPD Chief Beck give in like the Non- Licensed Drivers who no longer lose their cars

  4. Josh Butts says:

Well you all complain about how LAPD is too trigger happy and just shots and kills someone, well what you have to say now? Police used Less Lethal force and he still died. Yet I bet you all will still blame the police saying they should have done this or that. If your stupid enough to threaten the police to a point were they have to shot you then you deserve to die.

You deserve to die for deserving anyone to die, not a single living soul in this planet deserves to die some of us just need help overcoming everyday issues and life in general

      1. citizenRight says:

There are plenty of people that deserve to die. Murderers, rapists, child molesters, career violent offenders, and people who choose to try and murder police officers. America is rotting from the inside out because of people like you. The Death penalty has been in place by the people’s choice, however, it has turned into an expensive and useless format of public opinions and debate. The sad thing is; the whole reason why certain people are on death row in the first place, usually becomes a secondary topic at best. You are right “the man”. We should help the armed gang member who chooses to pick up a gun and rape a woman in the bushes then rob a liquor store for no other reason than his sick personal gratification and pleasure. We should give him our tax dollars and let him know we care. You, my friend, are a true idiot.
