Attempted Kidnapper Wanted In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBS) — The public's help is needed to identify a man police say tried to kidnap a 14-year-old girl in Long Beach.

The girl was attacked about 8 a.m. Monday near Lemon Avenue and 20th Street as she walked to school, according to the Long Beach police.

The suspect grabbed the girl by the arm and pulled her several feet before exposing himself to her, police said. The girl was able to get away from her attacker and reported what happened to her when she got to school.

The suspect was described as a black man in his late 20s, 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall, 170 to 190 pounds with short, black, cropped hair, light brown eyes and possible moles or acne pockmark-type scars above both cheeks. The suspect wore a brown hooded sweat jacket with yellow stripes running down each sleeve and navy blue pants.

Anyone with information about the suspect can call Long Beach police Detective Patrick Jennings at (562) 570-7368.
