Nick Cannon's Brother Released From Police Custody After Alleged Robbery

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Gabriel Cannon, brother of actor Nick Cannon and brother-in-law of singer/actress Mariah Carey, and two other people have been released from a North Hollywood police station after an initial investigation.

Cannon and two others were arrested Wednesday night after they reportedly assaulted and robbed Alex and Alejo Moreno of cameras and jewelry.

The Morenos, who work in reality TV, were working on a show for the past year with Cannon and the suspects.

After interviewing the suspects and victims, the LAPD concluded that no robbery took place. Police determined the property taken from the victims actually belonged to a third party.

Police released Cannon and the other suspects around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. An investigation is ongoing. Authorities are not releasing the names of the suspects.

Gabriel Cannon has several credits including his brother's "Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out" as a production assistant and as an actor in the 2006 movie "Even Money," which also starred Nick Cannon.
