Former San Bernardino Deputy Convicted Of Soliciting Bribes, Sex
VICTORVILLE (AP) — A former San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy who promised women leniency if they bared their breasts like those on "Girls Gone Wild" videotapes has been convicted of soliciting bribes and sexual assaults.
A Victorville jury reached verdicts Tuesday against 33-year-old Matthew Linderman. He has been convicted on 15 of 24 counts of kidnapping, extortion, sexual battery, soliciting a bribe and soliciting a lewd act.
The Victorville Daily Press says Linderman, who had been free on $50,000 bail, was immediately taken into custody. He faces up to 17 years in prison when he's sentenced April 6.
Prosecutors say Linderman assaulted more than a dozen women.
