AT&T Announces New Data Plan Options For iPad
NEW YORK (AP) — AT&T says iPad and iPad 2 customers have a new way to pay for data service and can cut the cost of going over the monthly data cap.
So far, AT&T Inc. has offered iPad customers "prepaid" plans, under which they pay for service by the month, in advance, separately from any other AT&T bills.
On Thursday, AT&T said it will offer a bill for each month's service, or add the fee to a phone bill.
The "postpaid" plans cost the same -- $15 or $25 per month, depending on data usage. But customers on the new $25 plan will be charged $10 per gigabyte of extra data. That's $20 for every 2 gigabytes, compared with $25 on the prepaid plan.
