Former Student Carries Shotgun Onto Lake Elsinore High School Campus
LAKE ELSINORE (CBS) — Police say a former student who carried a shotgun and other weapons onto a high school campus was disarmed peacefully.
The boy, whose age and identity were not released, was detained about 7:30 a.m. at Lakeside High School, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. John Kaiser said.
Deputies were called to the campus at 32593 Riverside Drive after witnesses spotted the armed youth. Classes had not yet started, but the administrative office was open.
Kaiser says the deputies quickly found the boy and arrested him without incident. The boy was armed with a shotgun, knives and ammunition, he said.
The boy was booked into Murrieta Juvenile Hall.
