LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have identified the man arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a homeless man on the Venice boardwalk.

Officials said Saturday that 23-year-old Billy Young, who's also homeless, was taken into custody after the two men fought Thursday night.

The victim, 38-year-old Kevin Hirtle, died at Marina del Rey Hospital. He had been stabbed eight or nine times in the abdomen. No one else was injured.

A motive for the fight isn't known.
